Composition :

Each gram cream THECORT^® contains:

• Miconazole nitrate 2%
• Hydrocortisone 1%

 

Pharmacology :

• Miconazole nitrate is a synthetic derivative of 1-phenethyl imidazole which has anti-fungal properties, acts affecting the fungal permeability by disrupting ergosterol biosynthesis resulting in disturbed plasma membrane
• Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid that works to prevent or suppress the onset of inflammatory symptoms

 

Indication :

nflammation and skin infections are mainly caused by fungi where inflammatory symptoms play an important role. Because of the efficacy of THECORT^® is particularly indicated in the early stages of treatment. When the inflammatory symptoms have disappeared if necessary treatment may be continued with a single anti-fungal preparation according to Doctor’s instructions.

 

Dosage and Administration :

• Apply 1 – 2 times a day according to the extent of the lesion and rub it gently, so the cream entirely deeps into the skin (usually treatment duration 5 – 7 days)
• Treatment should be discontinued after the reduction of inflammation or improvement of skin areas suffering from eczema, no later than 7 days of use and treatment followed by a single anti-fungal preparation preparation in accordance with the doctor’s instruction
