Opox
Composition :
Each film coated tablet OPOX® contains Loperamide HCl 2 mg
Pharmacology :
- Lopreamide is an antispasmodic, in which the exact mechanism of action can not be explained.
- n animal experiments, Loperamide inhibits intestinal motility/perstaltik by directly affecting the circular and longitudinal muscles of the intestinal wall.
- On oral administration some drugs are not absorbed, do not penetrate brain tissue properly.
Indication :
Non-specific acute diarrhea and chronic diarrhea
Dosage :
Acute Diare (non specific) :
- Initial dose: 4 mg.
- Usual dose: 2 – 4 mg, 1 – 2 times daily.
Dosage should not exceed 16 mg per day.
Chronic Diareik:
- Dose 4 – 8 mg per day depending on the severity of diarrhea and response from the patient.
- Dosage should not exceed 16 mg per day.
Taking must be stopped if after 48 hours there is no change.
