KONSTILAC
Content:
Each 5 ml of KONSTILAC syrup contains 3.335 g of Lactulose.
Pharmacology:
In the colon, Lactulose is broken down by colon bacteria into low molecular weight organic acids. This acid lowers the pH in the colon lumen and increases the volume of the colon contents through an osmotic effect. This stimulates colonic peristalsis and restores stool consistency. Constipation improves, and the physiological rhythm of the colon returns. In cases of brain dysfunction due to impaired blood flow in the intestines and liver, Lactulose works by suppressing decomposing bacteria and promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria, such as Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus, while potentially pathogenic bacteria, such as Clostridium and Escherichia coli, are inhibited. This helps maintain the balance of intestinal flora.
