Govotil
Composition :
Each tablet GOVOTIL®-2 contains Haloperidol 2 mg
Each tablet GOVOTIL®-5 contains Haloperidol 5 mg
Pharmacology :
- Haloperidol is a neuroleptic with broad spectrum: antipsychotics, psychomotor sedation, controlling psychic and autonomic balance, inhibiting uncoordinated movements, antiemetics.
- Haloperidol works with a working period of 12 hours after 1 administration.
- The optimum treatment is administered twice daily
Indication :
- To regulate the chronic state and acute psychosis including anxiety, anxiety and psychological abnormalities that are attributed to irritability, aggressiveness, asthenia
- As an antiemetic on radiation poisoning and cancer chemotherapy
- Hallucinations on schizophrenia, agitation
- Attitudinal and behavioral abnormalities in children (use for children only when other non-neuroptical psychotherapy medications do not have an effect)
Dosage :
For psychosis:
- Adult and children more than 12 years old, initial dose as follow:
Moderate symptoms: 0.5 – 2.0 mg, 2–3 times daily
Severe symptoms: 3.0 – 5.0 mg, 2–3 times daily
- Children 3–12 tahun:
Dose adjusted for body weight: 0.05 – 0.25 mg / kg body weight / day, divided into divided doses, then dose gradually adjusted to the needs and tolerance of the body.
For chronic schizophrenia:
- Adult and children > 12 tahun: initial dose 6–15 mg, in divided doses of 2-3 doses
- Elderly: 0.5 – 1.5 mg/day in divided doses of 2-3 doses
It is not recommended for children under 3 years old.
