Composition :

Each tablet STENIROL® 4 contains Methylprednisolone 4 mg

Each tablet STENIROL® 8 contains Methylprednisolone 8 mg

each tablet STENIROL® 16 contains Methylprednisolone 16 mg

Pharmacology :

  • Methylprednisolone including glucocorticoids
  • Glucocorticoids are corticosteroids whose main effects on the storage of glycogen in the liver and its antiinflammatory properties are real
  • In inflammation, capillary permiability increases, causing edema and protein fluid out to inflammation area, corticosteroid can prevent disruption of permibility, so swelling can be eliminated or decrease and also happened inhibition of cell leucocytes and mast cell exudation
  • Corticosteroids can maintain the integrity of cell membranes and plasma membranes, so that damage cell by toxin, proteolytic enzymes or mechanical causes can be eliminated
  • Corticosteroids can stabilize the lysosome membrane, thereby inhibiting the expulsion of hydrolase enzymes that can destroy cell contents and cause expansion of the inflammatory reaction
  • Absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract, the half-life between 12-36 hour

Indication :

  • Allergy conditions such as: bronchial asthma, atopic dermatitis, optic neuritis, chorioretinitis, iritis dan iridocyclitis, sympathetic opthalmia, herpes zoster opthalmicus, allergic corneal marginal ulcers
  • Gastrointestinal diseases such as: symptomatic sarcoidosis, aspiration pneumonitis, beryliosis
  • Haematology disease such as: idiopathic thrombositopenic purpura, secondary thrombocytopenia, acquired (autoimmune) hemolytic anemia, erythroblastopenia, congenital hypoplastic anemia
