Composition :
Each film coated tablet PILOPIL® contains Tenoxicam 20 mg
Pharmacology :
- PILOPIL® contains Tenoxicam (4-hydroxy-2 methyl-N-2-pyridyl-2-H-thieno- (2,3-e-) – 1-2-thiazine-3-carbuxamide-1.1-dioxide) is a thieno thiazine derivative oxicam.
- Tenoxicam has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic and also inhibits blood clotting.
- Tenoxicam is a prostaglandin biosynthesis inhibitor both in vitro and in vivo.
- In vitro tests of leukocytes peroxidase show that Tenoxicam can act as an active oxygen cleaner at the site of inflammation.
- This pharmacological activity can explain that PILOPIL® can be used for the treatment of inflammation, pain and degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
Indication :
PILOPIL® is indicated for symptomatic treatment of painful inflammation and degenerative disorders of the musculoskeletal system such as:
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Osteoarthritis
- Arthrosis
- Ankilosa spondilitis
- Tendinitis
- Bursitis
- Periarthritis on sholder and pelvis
- Avute Gout arthritis
Dosage:
For all indications, except gout arthritis: 20 mg (1 tablet), once daily
- PILOPIL® therapeutic effect will be apparent at the initial therapy, but progressive improvement of therapy results after more than 2 weeks will occur until a reasonable level of plasma is achieved
- Daily doses higher than 20 mg should be avoided, as this will increase the frequency and intensity of the unwanted reaction without a significant increase in utility
- For patients requiring long-term treatment, daily dose reduction to 10 mg (½ tablet)
For gout arthritis:
40 mg (2 tablets), once daily for 2 hari followed 20 mg (1 tablet), once daily, at the same time every day for the next 5 days.
